Desktop Evolution

November 1st, 2008 Posted in JBlogs

Today is November 1 and we all know that it’s All Saint’s Day. I was bored this time, I’ve got nothing to do, nothing to blog, nothing to browse, everything was nothing. That’s why I thought of something that will make me something a little busy even in a simple way. I stared on my desktop and thinking what could I do until I remember it’s a new day, a new month.

I open my browser and visit Smashing Magazine website to check out if their latest news and stuff. Gladly, they have these new Desktop Calendar wallpapers for the month of November. It’s what I have been waiting for so I browse all those wallpapers ’til I have my choice and downloaded it into my computer.

Wisdom Comes with Winter by Athena Emily
The wallpaper really fits my mood that is why I chose it. I love dark, grungy, and quiet-type of graphics thingy just like this wallpaper. Based from the creator; This month I made this wallpaper with a dark bluish color just because I think this is how winter means to me. Dark and cold. It seems that this year’s winter is approaching us earlier than usual. November is the start of winter in the Northern hemisphere.” and she got the idea from her inspiration of being into Japanese rock band.

I also created my own dock icons, (that’s it!, the text on the bottom part). Dock icons are known as to be a high quality type of shortcut icons on your desktop just like what Mac OS X has. But for me, I want to be different, something simple but cool. So I made a text-type dock icon for the applications that I always use. Voila! It seems that it matched the wallpaper theme and I’m very happy with it.

My previous desktop wallpaper and dock icons:

The first screenshot of your desktop looks beautiful! And your dock icons look really pretty and simple (the text ones). Do you have them available for people to download or are they only for personal use? Do you have a deviant art?
