50 Extremely Useful And Powerful CSS Tools

December 10th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in CSS, Websites

img-520-50_powerful

We love useful stuff. For months, we have been bookmarking interesting, useful and creative CSS tools and related resources. We have been contacting developers, encouraging them to improve their tools and release their handy little apps to the public. Last year we prepared and published some of them in a series of smashing posts about CSS. Now again is the time to give these tools the attention they deserve. Big thanks to all designers and developers who contributed to the design community over the last months and years. We — our community and the design community — truly appreciate your efforts.

Multiple Zinio Subscriptions in One Account

November 25th, 2008 | 9 Comments | Posted in Websites

From my previous article Free Shutterbug Photography MagazineRead Green Initiative allows only one email account. What you do is sign-up another email address multiple times just to get all of their free digital magazine subscriptions. Why waste of time if there’s a good way on how to get multiple subscriptions using one account? Thanks to Jeff of Too Much Few, for the great tip!

How To Get Multiple Zinio Subscriptions using One Account?

  1. 1. Open a Notepad or any text file application, copy and paste the link “http://www.zinio.com/delivery?issn=ipho-life&of=green&contacts_email=dsadsada” without the quotes (we will use this later)
  2. 2. Login your account on Zinio.com
  3. 3. Open a new tab/browser then visit Read Green Initiative website free subscription page
  4. 4. Choose your free magazine but don’t click on it, we will use another method instead of typing your fake email addresses on the subscription window.
  5. 5. For example, on the image below I choose Layers, right-click on it then click on Properties.
  6. 6. A properties window will appear, if you use Firefox then it will be easy for you to do this. Look for the image url on Location under Image Properties and copy that link (e.g. http://www.zinio.com/img?issn=LayersR-003&size=155)
  7. img-520-howto_freemag_1

  8. 7. Now let’s go back to your Notepad, and paste the link there. Don’t overwrite the previous link or else you might get lost. We now have two links on a separate lines
  9. http://www.zinio.com/delivery?issn=ipho-life&of=green&contacts_email=dsadsada

    http://www.zinio.com/img?issn=LayersR-003&size=155

  10. 8. Bold letters are the values of your free magazine subscription, just copy the LayersR-003 and replace ipho-life. Copy and paste the new link on your browser. That’s it, you will now have your new free magazine subscription on your MyLibrary page. Just repeat the steps and you will have multiple free digital magazines!
  11. img-520-howto_freemag_1

You may check out other free digital magazine subscriptions at Zinio.com.

Note: You must only put the values before "&of" and after "issn="
in order for this to work properly.

Tabsgroups-tab Plus allows you to organize Firefox tab in even more tabs. It does the same drag-n-drop organization of tabs within user-defined parent tabs, but this version supports Firefox 3 where the old version did not.

Changes in 0.3.2
- Preference to prompt for name when creating a new group.
- Preference to switch to newly created group

Works with:
-Firefox 2.0 – 3.0 | See All Versions here

My reviews:
It makes my life more easier. I don’t need to open another Firefox browser.

Google Chrome Show Off Special Characters on My Website

October 28th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Websites

As of October 28, 2008 – 1540H local time, I opened Google Chrome to view the output of changes I made on my website (because I was updating some of its content) and I was stunned when I saw the results. It was kind of computer special characters or ascii code or something like when you open an application (.exe) program using Notepad. So I refreshed my browser about three times and it still showing the same result and I don’t have any idea what’s going on. I have tried viewing my website using Firefox and IE but everything’s are normal. I continue refreshing the page on Google Chrome but nothing happens. I tried other website address like Yahoo! and Too Much Few but they seems to be normal. I was wondering if I did something wrong with my website’s code but the only last thing I did, I removed “Pages” sidebar because I don’t like the output. Duh! Is it a big deal? or is it Google Chrome’s mystery bug?
